  2. Today was ANZAC Day and we did lots of exciting things like: Marching, our own ANZAC memorial, built trenches and sat in there for half an HOUR and our own boot camp. We had to act like soldiers too and our teacher Mr Wood use to be a corporal of the South African army so he was extra strict!

Today I learnt being a soldier is not easy. I appreciate that so many soldiers went and risked their lives for us.

I feel much more different right now then I did before because I use to think war was not very hard.
I definitely think ANZAC is important because I respect all the soldiers.

  5. Today we did a boot camp. It was supposed to be very hard but it was quite easy. First we did an obstacle on the tyres with our bags on our backs. Next we did an obstacle on the playground that was a bit hard but also fun. After we did an obstacle courses on the loopy wooden planks it was very fun I fell over twice. I think that celebrating Anzac day is important to celebrate because if we just forget bout those who died to save our country in world war 1 the ones in heaven watching us will fell heart broken that we don't care they died for us.

  9. Today we planted crosses by the junior classes. Then some kids sang poems. After that our class did marching. Next we went back to class to flip our desks. Too make them look like trenches. I learnt ANZAC day is about remembering the soldiers who fought for our country and freedom. I wast sad about ANZAC day because i wasn't alive then. But my great grandfathers were farmers but there not alive today. I don't think ANZAC day is important because i wasn't alive in Ww1 or Ww2

  10. Today we had a special assembly for ANZAC day. I read a poem with Lulu and Carys, the poem was called In Flanders Fields, in front of the whole senior school. I was a bit nervous at first but after I felt proud of my self. Then we had a speech from Sam in room 16, Sam looked like he was proud of himself. After that the other senior classes planted their special crosses. Later we listened to the Last Post and Reveille, we were listening to Reveille Mrs Armstrong raised the flag.

  11. Today we celebrated Anzac day it might sound weird because we're celebrating people death but they fighted for our country to be free. New Zealand will probably blown up if they didn't fight for our country They Did this to make our country what it is now.I learnt that if you give everything a try and fail you are learning

  13. What happened today?
Today we had a memorial to celebrate the ANZAC's.

What did you learn from it?
I learnt that not just the ANZAC's but what hard work they go through.

How did it make you feel?
A bit sad but I know it made my cousin feel sad because she told me during the poems and speeches she said she almost cried but she held it in.

Do you think celebrating ANZAC is important?
DEFINITELY! I so appreciate all they have done for our country.

  15. It was anzac day at school today. The senior school(and some junior classes) held a memorial service
for the Anzac soldiers. I got to read out the first paragraph of flanders field. Some people were lucky and got to plant crosses with soldiers name's on them. During the day we got to eat a Anzac biscuit, do boot camp and we had a bit of time for role play and learning a way of morse code.I learnt that being a soldier wasn't easy work you didn't get nice meals, your food was in rashined, you had to train very hard and sometimes you got hurt badly. We had to train with our backpacks on all day(almost) and we had to train with our packs full of stuff when we finally got a small break I was so exhausted I would not like to be a soldier in any war at all. I think remembering Anzac day is important because we remember the soldiers that gave their lives up to help fight or peace, so I think it is very important for every one to remember Anzac day.

  17. Today was ANZAC Day, and we learnt all sorts of things. We went to the ANZAC memorial by the flag pole and we also read a poem about the war. We also made trenches by flipping our desks over. I was dressed up as a nurse so I was in the medical station, and while all the other soldiers were in the trenches. After lunch we went out for boot camp it was very tiring. The first thing we did was go on the ten year old playground, secondly we went on the obstacle course, and lastly running. I think it's very hard being a soldier and a nurse.

  18. Today we had a special assembly for ANZAC day. My friend Jamie read a poem and he should be proud of himself because he read it well. After morning tea we made trenches with our desk's and got shot in the eye with the water because I was being sensible and write a code to Mr Wood.
